Web technology has advanced very quickly over the last few years. Web standards that divide content, presentation and function enable us to implement clean and simple websites that are accessible, fast, reliable and easy to adapt to new technologies. All Ralentango sites follow these standards.
Hosting
We use state-of-the-art UK-based servers, which we will manage on your behalf and provide you with as much or as little control as you wish. Similarly, we will completely manage the process of acquiring website addresses and mailboxes until and unless you wish to take some part.
Content Management
We are very happy to completely manage your website on your behalf, responding rapidly to all your requests for additions and changes. But we can also provide you with direct access to parts of your website to enable you to make your own content amendments without disturbing the integrity of the site. Our content management system Contango™ is simple and robust, and does not require any knowledge of web technology.
Mark-up
Our mark-up is minimal, containing only content and semantics. It conforms to the XHTML 1.0 Strict standard.
Layout
All our layout is achieved through the use of style sheets, which conform to the CSS standard. Text is resizable using standard browser controls, and the sites are useable if dull even if style sheets are disabled.
Scripting
DOM scripting and Ajax are used to enhance the behaviour and to some extent the look and feel of Ralentango websites. The scripting follows the standards guidelines for the unobtrusive use of JavaScript, and the sites are useable even you disable scripting. I use the very elegant jQuery library.
